“I upgraded my C12 and U87 DIY kit clones from the stock chinese capsules to Maiku K12 and K87 capsules. Both mics sound way better now. Especially the difference between the chinese K87 to the Maiku was huge. Both Maiku capsules have a nice warm low end and a very sweet and smooth high end. Absolutely recommended!"

“I bought the K47 and K12 Capsules from Maiku. I tried them in 3 different microphones: 2 transformer-less secondhand Rode mics (old NT1 and NT2a), and my UM17. After recording both of the Rode mic's against my more expensive mics up-to £600, they totally won the shootout by a good way. The Maiku’s are much better than the mic-parts capsules and in my view probably the best value to sound ratio you can buy. They totally lift the quality in sound of cheaper microphones and make them a lot more usable, and certainly better than spending too much money on off-the-shelf mics with poor capsules in (I have found even expensive mics with poor capsules in).
Whatever your budget don't buy new. Save your money, do a bit of research, buy secondhand, and put a Maiku capsule in. You won't be disappointed."

“Wanted to tell you that the (K12) replacement capsule you provided for the C414-EB sounds fantastic! The person who has recovered his microphone loves the sound. They even compared in their studio with an original C414, and they prefer the new capsule!"

“Just a quick word to let you know I’ve been using your k47 capsule in a modded Oktava mk219 with great results! The Oktava capsule was a disappointment, your k47 really brought the mic to life (along with some mods of the circuit). I’ve been recording acoustic and vocals mostly for a week, with a Neumann 47fet and the k47 equiped Oktava, and each time we chose the Oktava over the Neumann.
Its now such a great mic, and for real cheap! Thanks a lot!"

“Ich habe die K47 Kapsel in ein Studio Projects C1 eingebaut und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Resultat. Der Klang ist gesättigter in den unteren Mitten ohne dumpf zu werden und die Höhen werden präzise wiedergebe. Die Kapsel arbeitet sehr genau und schön wie ich finde und ich bevorzuge ihre "wärmeren" Klang gegenüber meinen bisherigen Kondensator Mikrofonen. Vielen Dank dafür!"

“Just wanted to say that the capsule you sent me is sounding excellent! I just did a little saxophone comparison with an old U87 that I know well and for me the clone 87 with Maiku capsule blew it away. Sounding very smooth, great bottom end. And I have no high end attenuation happening with this build at the moment!
Thanks very much!"

“I received the capsule today and installed it immediately. The mic now sounds even better than it did with the original capsule when it was working! I'm very happy with it."

“Thanks for all your help and I wanted to say that I’m quite impressed by these CK12’s. I’ve made many microphones in the direction of the 251 or the C12 and have used either Chinese capsules, Pelusos, Tim Campbell and even Beesneez. I find that the Maiku isn’t really 100% authentic, but I really like how it sounds in a 251 circuit. I can honestly say that I like it more than the famed TC 12 capsule.
Good work!"

“K87 capsule sounds great. Will try all of them. Love it."

“Package came in today. Looks absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to hear it. Just wanted to let you know, I emailed almost every other small capsule manufacturer around. With just one or two simple questions about the capsules and the shipping. You’re the ONLY one that ever replied, and you replied immediately. You stayed in touch with me through the whole process. I can’t even begin to tell you how valuable that is to the people that buy these things.
It’s been a pleasure dealing with Maiku and I’ll definitely be buying from you in the future."

“I tested your CK12 capsule, and it is by far better than the CEK-12. The sound is very good – I compared vocal tracks with my AKG, and it's a similar sound quality. The sound of my C12 clone is now full and warm with less highs and normal mids, everything fits very good.
Best wishes and thank you for such a good capsule!"

“You guys put out an amazing capsule. Thanks so much for having consistent quality. Both the clients who purchased the custom mics were super impressed with how good the mics sounded, 80% of that was your doing. I look forward to continued use of your capsules."

“I compared your K47 to a Beesneez M7 in an M49 build. The difference in capsule styles is apparent but there is no difference in quality. I'm really impressed with how good this sounds!"

“I've compared the Maiku K47 with the original Neumann K49 Capsule in nearly the same circuit. These Capsule are very close together. The original one has a slight better mid response, but it's hard to hear...
I'm deeply impressed!"

“I have tested the capsule in the 67 vs the Heiserman today. Your capsule has more low end but less high end. The Heiserman has more on top but less low end. They both sound very good. The Maiku is by far the best capsule we have had since the Heiserman.
Also just tested the K47. I can conclude that your capsules are better sounding than Beesneez and close sounding to the Heiserman.
With the Heiserman, you have the best capsules I have tried."

“I replaced the Peluso K87 from my DIY U87 with the Maiku K87. I wish I had ordered one more: the response of the Maiku is so close to the original Neumann U87, and any differences to my ears are very hard to hear."

“I just tried the K87 capsule in my old DIY 87. It's absolutely gorgeous. The body... the 'oomph' with a sweet top end. As others have mentioned, if only I had ordered more."

“This is a 47 with a Maiku K47 capsule and a Cinemag 2461Nico.
I was also building a U87 clone for a buddy with a Heiserman capsule, so to test them (it was getting a bit late, but I couldn't wait) I put both in stands and grabbed my 1970 000-18. Put the 47 into cardioid and put it a bit to my left at face level about 10 inches out or so, and then put the u87 clone in figure 8 about equal to the fretboard and also around 10 inches out and I hit record. After recording I turned on some high pass on both and a bit of plate reverb, and then used the Manley Massive Passive to add a little high end:
My reaction is amazement.
I've never had a mic handle my vocals like this - I have a bit of a high end noise thing/sharp sibilance that always drives me nuts, on any mic - SM7, Beyerdynamics, several mics I've built with microphone-parts capsules. This 47 with Maiku K47 sounds perfect!"

“I did some preliminary comparison of Maiku 47 and 67 to genuine Neumann I own in a D47fet circuit, and a genuine 87Ai.
Both are close to the original frequency wise. I spotted some minor differences in the mids in both case but nothing I can't live with. In fact I'm really impressed and I must admit that this difference doesn't justify the difference in price between a genuine one and a Maiku. The original 47 allow maybe a little bit of 'see through' the recording as said earlier, but I don't know if it is real or me trying to convince myself and justify the superiority of a genuine one. Time will tell...
I didn't compare behaviour with high spl source but it'll be done in the future, and I neither used them in tube circuit which is the application I purchased them for initially. My Neumann k47 capsule is a fet version (only one diaphragm) and may be re-purposed to a tube circuit, the Maiku 47 will probably stay in the fet one. The 67 is frighteningly close to the original too, and don't seem to be brighter than the original.
I listened to the ck12 too in the 47fet circuit and it sound nice and smooth but I don't have anything to compare it to. Anyway I'm very impressed by the outcome so far and it is nice to have a source of reasonably priced good capsule in continental Europe."

“The capsules are a sure upgrade to the microphone-parts capsules I had installed.
Higher resolution of details in the mid, more open to the high frequencies without being brittle.
All in all a more 'neutral' sound, as someone would expect from a 'Neumann' capsule."
MD (Germany)
“I didn't have enough time to compare, but in this little time I tested, the difference between Maiku and OEM Chinese capsules is huge, like day and night."
